GS 1000 series of urban-benches

GS 1000 can be seen as a re-design of my graduation-project from the Royal Danish Academy, School of Architecture, 1986.

The series contained long and short benches with or without backs and with or without armrests.

The innovative one-column-construction for the shorter versions, solves several problems known from more traditional types of benches: Mounting on sloping terrain, cleaning around the bench etc.

The bench also gets a hoovering and light expression, despite its huge strength.

It was exhibited at SE91, in Wienna, at ”Everyday rooms and rituals”,

Den Frie udst. Bygning 1994 and at Designmuseum Denmark (“Kunstindustrimuseet” at the time) 1997.
