SOMMER (Danish for SUMMER) Series of stackable furniture; bench, chair, table

Originally executed in Pine-wood, for the yearly exhibition; “Skud på stammen”.

Using Pine-wood, which is much weaker than hardwood, was my approach. I was looking to make a construction with material concentrated in one strong main-joint and to see if a pinewood-furniture (for once) could become elegant by tapering down the material-dimensions from this central joint in all directions.

The furniture is meant to be used indoor but also temporarily outdoors. The benches would also do their job during summer-outdoor-arrangements, like concerts and meetings. They look nice coupled together in rows.  After use the stackability gives the opportunity to store the furniture.
